Learn hands-on skills to build on your terms.

All our courses come with a community of support to develop your own ‘inner-builder’ intuition and skill set.
The most common thing we hear from our ‘Domie’ graduates is: “I now feel confident to build”.
Everyone can attend our workshops. no building knowledge is necessary, and no experience with electric or hand tools.

The Location Around

Workshops will bring you to a beautiful location, surround you with incredible people and help you on your way to building your own dome. Not to mention, that you will come away with a network of people who will support your project.

Workshop Learning Objectives

  • Learn our methods for building a geodesic dome, strong and durable against the forces of earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.
  • Work in a friendly and respectful team setting to co-create under the guidance of our instructors
  • Build extensions like doors and windows, connections for several domes
  • No unique tools – Math is an amazing tool that you can use yourself at home – almost all the rest is a hammer and a drill.
  • Understand the amazing idea behind triangles and unleash your imagination, a sphere is just the beginning
  • Cover and airflow design for warm and cold weather
  • Build a chimney for airflow and natural exhaust
  • “Classroom” exercises and discussions
  • Topics: Foundation pouring, assembly, skylight ideas, window installation, door and door jam construction & installation
  • Apply reinforcement

*Please Note: During this 10-day (hands-on) workshop, we will build a basic dome structure. Instruction includes the fundamentals of cutting, colour-coding, hammering, drilling and structural assembling of the dome but does not include plumbing, electrical or finishing installations. We will do our best as a team to complete the geodesic dome during the workshop; however, we do not guarantee completion. Unexpected obstacles such as adverse weather conditions, for example, may affect our progress and prevent the dome’s full completion.
